What is Monsplasty?

Monsplasty is a type of plastic surgery performed to treat the area between the lower abdomen and the outer vagina lips. This area normally resembles a small bump or knob, in terms of appearance. However, for some people, genetic traits or factors such as weight gain may cause this area to appear larger than normal in terms of size. This is a condition that causes discomfor to many women. How is monsplasty surgery performed?

If only monoplasty is performed, it will most likely be under local anesthesia. Once the area is numb an incision will be made inside the bikini line and excess tissue is removed with a scalpel. The underlying tissue is then tightened and reshaped using sutures and the incision area is closed up.
